SLG Mobile, Inc. Releases BeamReader - The First Full Fidelity Native PDF Reader for the BlackBerry Platform

Fairfax, Virginia - January 12, 2009 - SLG Mobile, Inc., (formerly known as BeamBerry Solutions, Inc.) announced today the official release of BeamReader, the company's new product that is the first to provide full fidelity (original quality) native PDF viewing on the BlackBerry platform. All document rendering is completely native to the BlackBerry device without the need for server side pre-processing and the user's BlackBerry does not even need to be connected to the network. The hallmark of BeamReader is its ability to render actual fonts embedded in a PDF document as opposed to using font substitutes that adversely affect the document's look and formatting. Instead, documents opened with the BeamReader look exactly like they would on a PC with all of the original fonts, images, and formatting completely preserved. BeamReader is the fastest and most intuitive PDF viewing solution available for the BlackBerry platform. Official release of BeamReader brings an end to a successful beta program during which tens of thousands of BlackBerry customers worldwide have evaluated BeamReader and provided their feedback.

This type of offline native full fidelity viewing of PDF documents has been a long standing requirement of BlackBerry users who have become accustomed to native support for PDF on other platforms. Up until now, however, it was believed that the BlackBerry device is not powerful enough to display PDF documents locally, without server side pre-processing, in large part due to the challenges associated with rendering embedded PDF fonts on the BlackBerry device. SLG Mobile becomes the first company to solve this problem by developing some state of the art technology, further reaffirming the company's position as an innovator and leader in the space of mobile document management for BlackBerry devices.

BeamReader has a small memory footprint and will work even on older BlackBerry models, as long as they are running OS 4.2+. The product does not require a data plan to use, and will also support customers using any version of BIS or BES. The native approach also alleviates any customer concerns about the security of allowing third party servers to perform pre-processing of their documents. BeamReader supports viewing of documents from e-mail document attachments (requires OS 4.5), memory card and internal device memory.

In addition to full fidelity native PDF viewing, BeamReader is also an intuitive fully featured file manager that enables convenient access and management of other document formats (e.g. MS Office, images and audio/video files) using other BlackBerry applications that are native to the device. Now users can manage all of their files on a BlackBerry from one place and natively access these files via other applications available on a BlackBerry. Some of the features of the BeamReader File Manager include: opening of different file types, copy/paste/delete/rename, multi select, ability to attach stored files to new e-mails, image viewing, creation of new MS Office documents, and much more. Users can also use the BlackBerry built-in explorer to open the PDF documents stored on their memory card with BeamReader (requires OS 4.3+).

"We are delighted to introduce BeamReader to the BlackBerry market and firmly believe that a native full fidelity PDF reader makes the BlackBerry platform more complete for business users and more competitive with other platforms," said Evgeny Lebanidze, President and CEO of SLG Mobile.
